If you havent already read this, you likely wont understand the following. If you have however, you may want to see how long it took me to get back up to speed. My preop baseline if 8.6MPH for 5 miles (7 minute miles x 5). You must understand several important factors, however.

1. I am extremely motivated. I am not one to sit around and blather about pain.

2. I took exquisite care during my recovery. Dressing changes, minimizing movement, cleaning wounds and gauze.

3. I ate very healthy to maximize recovery of bone and ligament tissue. Fruits, vegetables, soy milk and grains. No BS.

4. My doctor ok’d me to do some of these benchmarks. You will have to listen to yours as well. I am not your doctor.

5, My doctor is a orthopedic foot specialist. And he kicks ass. Great surgery gets great results! Thanks, Dr. Junko!

That said, the following is possible in idealized circumstances.

The future is what you want it to be. If youve been delaying foot surgery that you know you need, you can recover. You do have to have some patience or you will have broken toes once again. As always listen to your body, and listen to your doctor.
